I have a lean to conservatory 4m length x 3m width. No one has a conservatory anymore they are now all orangaries with flat roofs. It currently has polycarbonate sheet roof and i want to replace it with a new lightweight tiled roof and possible 600mm velux window in the centre. Much posher for the marketing men to push.

Efficient pretty and easier. The insulation is usually provided by the pur sheets over osb sheeting creating a warm roof without a cold void that needs ventilating. As you may imagine there is a fair amount of weight involved here in terms of boards felt etc. Yes with careful design you can construct a timber flat roof but the corner posts may need to be substantial.
